Wedding Day Shape Up
I recently posted that my new upcoming Blog Theme will be a 'Wedding Day Shape Up"(WDSU) as my Wedding day is fast approaching and is in exactly 28 weeks and 4 days from today. So what will be involved for a Health professional looking to Shape up?
Ok, so I am leading the life of a true health coach 80% of the time but I do make sure that I enjoy my 20% of hedonism, (not quite true as getting older I can't stay up that late and prefer going for the early bird special before the youngsters come in!!!). The rule of course that I tell all my clients is 80/20. 80% of the time lead a healthy lifestyle and 20% of the time enjoy yourself. So what will I do differently for the next 6 months?
Well I could certainly lose 10 pounds, for some reason women get obsessed about their size and I can't help but want to be skinny for my wedding day photos. It doesn't help when I have just returned from LA where size 0 is the current fad. But don't worry, I fortunately, am a realistic woman who is far more comfortable with my statuesque physique which allows me to eat and enjoy food rather than starving myself, living off cigarettes and drugs to fit into a size 0 designer dress!
But I have to be honest and say that I do want to be in my absolute prime for the day and could do with losing some weight. So will I be dieting I hear you ask??? NO, but here is a rough plan of the upcoming 6 months...
- Increase my weights and resistance programme
- Include 1 hour cardio every other day
- Limit my starchy carbohydrate consumption
- Limit alcohol consumption
- Eat small meals 5 times a day
- Cut out sugary foods
- Increase my water consumption
- Get to bed before 11pm
- Take time out for stress reduction
- Keep on top of essential vitamins and minerals.
Sounds easy right? I guess you have heard all of the above plenty of times before? Well let me share the details with you in the following weeks. You will see how these easy 10 tips can contribute to a healthy new you and for my Wedding Day. I will be sharing up to date and scientifically backed information that supports each of the 10 tips. Watch this space!
