Hello all,
What with 6.5 weeks left until my wedding, I have really been enjoying being a 'Bridezilla in the making".
Actually joking aside, I AM really enjoying planning and organizing the much anticipated event; so much so that I am preparing a holiday itinerary for our long distant guests!! I'm also going to prepare their apartments with herbal teas, organic yams and soy bean with rice cakes for breakfast!!!
hahahahaah not really! I am sure my dear friends and family wouldn't appreciate healthy living for their week's holiday in the sun!! More like strong coffee, eggs and bacon and fast food delivery menus!!
Anyway, some quick top ten tips to keep you feeling on top form for the whole day!
Enjoy!
- Wake up when the sun rises - it is more in line with nature's circadian rhythms and helps you keep your body following its natural rhythm.
- Use a skin brush before your shower- this dry exfoliating method helps you release toxins and increase circulation. Great massage for the organs too!
- Have a stretch - start with the areas you know you feel tight, hold for 30 seconds.Repeat and take at least 10 good deep breaths. This will increase the oxygen to your brain and blood flow to your muscles.
- Moisturize - after your shower or bath, complete your regime with a good quality organic body cream. Check the ingredients on your current products! vitamin E oil is a great natural moisturizer!
- Start your day with a healthy breakfast - make it your largest meal of the day. Include a good source of protein such as boiled eggs, a good source of EFA (essential fatty acids) such as ground flax seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. Include a cup of low glycemic index carbohydrate such as organic rolled oats. Top the dish off with some slices of strawberries or kiwis! mmmmm YUM!
- Have a mid morning snack, such as 5 almonds and a pear! eating small and regular meals will ensure that you keep your blood sugar levels stable.
- Stay off high glycemic foods or stimulants such as coffee or sugary foods! If you do drink coffee why not reduce the amount of cups you have today? Green tea is a great substitute as it still contains a small amount of caffeine.
- Eat small and regular meals for the duration of the day. Aim to eat something at least every three to four hours. Never go more than four without food!
- Switch off t.v. and computer at 8.30pm, do something relaxing such as reading or any mind body exercise - this will promote a good nights sleep.
- Get to bed by 10.30pm - again following your natural circadian rhythm. Your body does it's important rest and repair from 10pm - 6am. vitally important for another great day tomorrow!

Great tips! I definitely find that if I turn the TV off early in the evening I sleep much better.
